Helping you succeed in each year of college

SuccessConnects is a great way to get familiar and confident with all that the university has to offer. But it also offers unique opportunities for returning students.

First-Year Students

  • Work with a Success Coach in regular 1-on-1 meetings to provide mentorship and answer all of your questions about student life
  • Learn about everything that U-M’s campus has to offer and get connected with your passions and interests
  • Meet people and make friends during workshops, social outings, and professional development events throughout the year

Returning Students

  • Work with an older student to stay on track with your studies and prepare for graduation
  • Get advice about career and academic opportunities to keep leveling up in your post-graduate years

Coaching

Mentorship that grows with you

SuccessConnects scholars work with different coaches at every stage of their undergraduate careers. Coaches help scholars connect with their peers, access campus resources, build academic skills, and find employment opportunities.

Tutoring

Support for your academic excellence

SuccessConnects offers tutoring for some of the most common challenging courses at U-M to support scholars in their academic pursuits. Tutoring occurs for one hour each week in a one-on-one fashion during the Fall and Winter semesters.

Community

Activities for learning, connecting, and recharging

SuccessConnects offers monthly gatherings, some purely social and others focused on academic, personal, and social well-being. Social outings and workshops are organized and facilitated by scholars and planned based on community input.
