Project Lighthouse

Our mission is to promote higher education to inner-city Detroit Hmong American high school students by encouraging academic success, exploring career opportunities, and preparing for college admission.

Our members plan and facilitate four to five workshops during the school year and work with students on-site in Detroit. Activities address areas specific to race relations, higher education goals, and career planning. At the end of the year we host our program participants on campus where they attend educational workshops, have lunch in a residence hall, and meet with currently enrolled U-M students.
