Come celebrate the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! This MLK Day, the UMDC will be hosting a two-part event that you won’t want to miss.

Part 1: Join us for the livestream of UM Ann Arbor’s 2026 MLK Symposium Keynote Memorial Lecture, featuring two keynote speakers: Donzaleigh Abernathy (an American actress, author, and civil rights activist, and the goddaughter of Dr. King) and Derrick Johnson (19th president and CEO, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People [NAACP]).

Part 2: Continue the conversation live in the UMDC with our featured Detroiters, Nancy Parker (Executive Director, Detroit Justice Center) and Orlando Bailey (Executive Director, Outlier Media), as they discuss the role of institutions of law and media in upholding freedom.
